The Magic Porridge Pot
A multi-sensory performance for children in KS1, EYFS and SEND specialist settings
Jack and the Beanstalk
A story about welcoming others and discovering what's important in life.
Poet Ruth Awolola
A long time ago, the Giant came down the beanstalk -
one of the tiny people had lost a balloon and the Giant knew they would be sad.
But the tiny people were scared and didn't welcome the Giant who was told to "Go away!".
Now, the Giant keeps the clouds covered all the time to feel safe and not to think about the tiny people.
Down below the clouds, the sky is always covered.
Some people, like Jack, have never seen the stars or felt the warm sun on their face...
I just wanted to email to say a huge thank you for the performances of Jack and the Beanstalk on Monday afternoon. We were apprehensive to book a performance for our EYFS children as we've never found something to meet our needs. Our children were mesmerized by the performance. The music and puppetry allowed the children to immerse themselves into the story. One of the standout features of the performance is the level of interactivity. Our young audience was invited to participate in various moments throughout the story with music and movement. This engagement not only keeps the children actively involved but also fosters a sense of connection with the characters and the story. Our children's favorite moments were of course the magical shadow effects used to bring the story to life in such an enchanting way. One little boy in Nursery left the hall saying, "That was AMAZING!"

The children and all the staff really enjoyed it. Some of the least confident children were joining in with shouting, laughing and with the actions.

We all loved the performance of Jack and the beanstalk. From the moment we entered the ‘theatre space’ to the fabulous ending. Staff were astounded by how well all the children stayed engaged.
